The MHFA England training program provides evidence-based information about common mental health problems and teaches learners how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health. Learners gain practical skills to provide support to someone experiencing a mental health crisis, including how to approach someone who is struggling, how to assess the risk of harm or suicide, and how to provide appropriate guidance and resources. The Adult MHFA course covers a wide range of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and psychosis.

I would just like to thank you again for your input over the last 6 months. You went over and above to create a brave space and help us think about how to improve the working conditions of psychological therapists from minoritised ethnic backgrounds. I’m hopeful that the learning will be used to take us further in our goals of creating a more inclusive and diverse environment.
I left the session feeling absolutely empowered as well as setting personal challenges to be more proactive with conversations and working on improving myself personally. Great working with you and looking forward to doing lots more with you all. You are all inspirational.
I’m much more confident and it is making me be more of myself. I have been connecting with people so much more and leaning into my strengths and my values more. I have really changed.
